“Living in the world” is a metaphor. It is a reminder that we are not alone, that our planet, our home, lives in a vast and interconnected universe. The koi carp in my paintings seem to float through this vast space, guarding life, our Earth and everything that surrounds us. They symbolize hope, harmony and the need to protect what we hold dear. Every stroke in these works is a conversation about protection and preservation. Each line is an attempt to connect the Earth and the Universe, man and nature, beauty and perseverance. And at the centre of it all are koi carp, as guardians and guides, as quiet protectors of our lives.
